You know times are changing when it’s not unheard of that someone from the Czech Republic met (online) and fell in love with someone from India. And not only do they hail from completely different parts of the world, they’re getting married thousands of miles away from their hometowns.
I met Libor and Dhinu a couple of weeks ago when David Page kindly asked me to second shoot their wedding with him. They were married at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church and then had their dinner reception up Boulder Canyon at the Red Lion Restaurant.
Even though language may have been a bit of a barrier and not the first language of either family, everyone managed to communicate pretty well and you could tell they were all happy to be there.
Instead of a traditional Indian dress (they were actually headed to India after this wedding to celebrate with family there) Dhinu opted for a gorgeous, elegant gown that looked fabulous on her. Her friends and family happily assisted her in getting ready and hid out at the back of the church while the guys hung out in the front.
There were already some hors d’oeuvres waiting for the guests. Yum!
Libor’s cousin made this creative 4-tiered cake made out of towels. I’ve never seen anything like it – so clever and she did a great job.
Photos of the bride and groom down by the creek.
There was only one child at the wedding and she definitely wasn’t lacking any attention – the guests loved her. And how could they not? She was adorable.
And then the bride and groom give their own toasts. Libor was short and to the point and Dhinu thanked her parents for letting them get married. :)
This cake was probably one of my all-time favorite wedding cakes. I’ve never seen one like it and, to top it all off, it was delicious! (not something I can say about many wedding cakes). It was made by Colorado Rose Cake Company.
Since much of Libor’s family couldn’t make it to the wedding, his family read aloud (in Czech and then in English) some of the cards written to the newly married couple. Very sweet.
Thanks to David for having me along and Best Wishes to Libor & Dhinu!
