I’d never seen hoarfrost in person before, so I was excited to wake up one morning in Alaska to see that hoarfrost had completely coated the trees and they were just waiting to be photographed!

I think the hoarfrost looks prettier than if the branches had just been coated with snow. The frost seems to fully envelope the branches – especially at the tops of these trees – changing the color from a dull brown to bright white.
It’s not every day in Alaska you’ll get a clear blue sky like this one; clear skies make for really cold days, but that’s ok – I got my shot. ;)
