There’s certainly no shortage of temples in Japan, and Tokyo is no different.
This uber-crowded Buddhist temple in Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most popular. It’s called Sensō-ji and this image is of Honzomon Treasure-House Gate, one of two massive gates.
There’s also the main temple, a shopping arcade, food stalls, a 5-tiered pagoda and more. Plenty to keep ya busy and plenty to keep the tourists coming in droves – as you can see in this photo.
It’s not a place for quiet contemplation so much as it is dodging the moving mass of people around you.
But it’s still a worthwhile sight to visit. And while you’re there, why not try a tasty treat like these fried yams? Yum.
