I’ve been secretly working on a new project that I’m finally ready to share with you. You ready?
It’s a new website all about learning photography!

Here’s the skinny.
What:
The site’s called SimplerPhoto.com and it’s about teaching you photography one step at a time.
Why:
I started it for a few reasons.
1) Learning Photography Shouldn’t Be Hard
Yes, photography can be complicated. There’s a lot to learn, for sure. But do we have to know everything to be a good photographer? I don’t think so. I hope to pick out the things you need to know most to help you improve your shots.
2) Gear Isn’t Everything
I’ve kinda always been a minimalist at heart, and getting rid of almost everything we own in preparation for our move has only solidified my desire to require less. And that goes for my photography gear, too. You don’t need to have a lot of equipment to take great photos. I hope to show you how on the new site.
3) One Step at a Time
Some sites like to blast you with what seems like a gazillion articles a week. Who can read all of those and keep up with that? Especially when most of the articles aren’t even relevant to the non-professional photographer.
Simpler Photo is about taking 1 concept per week so you have time to practice the new technique for a week and let it sink in. I’ve found a week is a good amount of time to learn something new and apply it.
Who:
The site is for people who want to learn how to make better photos, be more creative and utilize less gear. There should be something for beginners to amateurs alike.
So…
If you’ve been wanting to learn more about photography and have been putting it off because there’s just too much information out there, then maybe Simplerphoto.com is for you. I’d love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

Yay, this makes me happy! I already started following you on the new site, it’s exactly what I need now that I’m learning to handle my new camera. Thanks!! :)
That’s great, Viola! I’m happy to help. Please let me know if there’s anything I can help you with at any time. I look forward to seeing your photos! :)
Oh! Thank you. I have always wanted to learn and decided 2013 is the year. THANK YOU!!!
You’re welcome, Heather! I hope the tips are helpful to you. I try to write them so that you can build on your knowledge little by little and apply what you learn one step at a time. :)
